I don’t know by what means or method I can bind this friend of mine (i.e. the body) and condemn him. Because, before I can bind him, he gets free and before I can condemn him, I’m reconciled to him. Before I can punish him, I feel sorry for him, become reconciled to him and soften towards him. How can I defeat him, whom by nature I love? The unity of the soul and mind is what makes our human existence special. Never before has there ever been anyone else exactly like you. Nor will there ever be again. Each of us is unique and inimitable in the whole history of the human race. There is, of course, the point that no-one is irreplaceable, but this is wrong.
