‘Great Hours’ this month at Herod Atticus Odeon
15 Σεπτεμβρίου 2022
Composer Andreas Katsigiannis, in collaboration with the State Orchestra of Athens, will present excerpts from his trilogy “Great Hours”, during a much-anticipated performance on Thursday, Sept. 29, at the Herod Atticus Odeon, at the foot of the Acropolis in central Athens.
The excerpts are reminiscent of a reverent prayer, the rustling of wind from the sacred sky above Mount Athos, to the skies of Attica and the Herod Atticus Odeon, as interpreted by performers Glykeria, Dimitris Bassis, Eleanna Varela and Jonathan Jackson, the noted US musician and actor, along with 100 choristers from three separate choirs.
The State Orchestra of Athens will be conducted by Stathis Soulis. Greek stage actor Nikitas Tsakiroglou will narrate.
The event producer is the St. Maximus the Greek Institute.
