“I would like to inform you that my child, Maria, who is now three years old, was born after a miracle performed by our Lady.

We have been trying with the help of various doctors in Cyprus to have a child. My wife went through tests and operations but we had no joy for four years. We had become tired and disappointed, especially after the doctor assured us that we could only have a child if a miracle was going to happen.

A friend gave us the blessed ribbon of the Holy Belt of our Lady and urged us to try wearing it, back in August 1997. A month and a half later, my wife became pregnant with our daughter. When we told our doctor, he agreed that it was a miracle performed by our Lady, because it was impossible to have a child in any other way”.

45. I have been suffering for two years because I have a rare form of cancer

“For two years I have been suffering with a rare form of cancer. I went through a very difficult winter. When the Holy Belt was brought to Kastoria, my daughter brought me a small icon and the ribbon.  As soon as these were brought into the room, where I had been lying in bed for 2.5 months with excruciating pain, I stood up and picked up the icon and started kissing it in tears. I felt that our Lady herself had entered my room.

When I visited my doctor he told me to take some medicine and asked me to buy a certain orthopedic belt to wear in order to be able to sit in bed. I then told my daughter that I would wear the blessed ribbon instead and that I believed that I would be healed. Our Lady performed the miracle. In twenty days the pain was gone and I was encouraged. I have ordered to buy the icon of our Lady with her Holy Belt and I vowed that I will celebrate the feast of the Holy Belt every year.
