Of the three archangels, Raphael is first named in the Bible. He appears not only in the Book of Tobias, written in the early II before Jesus, in which he is the main hero. In this story telling, beautifully told, he presented the appearance of a young man named Azarias. Unlike other spirits cunning acting aiming to keep their secret identity, wearing an angel not be accused of hypocrisy: thus, if Raphael means God heals, the pseudonym adopted Azarias – translates into God saves, which is almost the same.
Dintre cei trei arhangheli, Rafael este primul numit în Biblie. El nu apare decât în Cartea lui Tobias, scrisă pe la începutul secolului al II-lea înainte de Iisus, în care el este eroul principal. În această povestire edificatoare, minunat relatată, el se prezintă sub aparenţa unui bărbat tânăr pe nume Azarias. Spre deosebire de alte spirite viclene care acţionează urmărind să îşi păstreze secretă identitatea, un înger nu poarte fi acuzat de prefăcătorie: aşadar, dacă Rafael înseamnă Dumnezeu vindecă, pseudonimul adoptat Azarias – se traduce prin Dumnezeu salvează, care este aproape acelaşi lucru.
