26. A thank you letter

A thank you letter was sent to us by a Russian couple, who had a baby after six years. They had used the ribbon blessed by the Holy Belt given to them by a Russian hieromonk, who had visited the Vatopedi monastery in 1998. The father is called Ivan and the mother Natasa. The baby was named Michael. The miracle took place at their second attempt. They are very thankful to the fathers of the Holy Mountain.

“A year ago today, on the 29.7.98, the Most Holy Mother of God has given us a baby girl. The astonishing fact is however, that nine months earlier in November 1997, I was pregnant but didn’t know it. At the time we had received unexpectedly the ribbon of the Holy Belt from you monastery, which was brought to us by Fr A, who already knew that we have had two unsuccessful attempts at having a baby.  We had lost our first baby during the sixth month of pregnancy simply because of our own lack of faith. We had two amniocentesis procedures. We lost the second baby during the third month of pregnancy. We sincerely felt that this ribbon was sent to us by our Lady because She wanted to give us this child which we had wanted so much. We hope that with Her grace we will also have another child”.
